Marine Pollution Today

We have all heard the phrase "No trash, no plastics in seas and beaches," but often reality is quite different. Marine pollution is a real problem that affects both human health and marine biodiversity. Plastic waste, chemicals, and oil spills are just some examples.

However, how many of us are aware of the state of the ocean floor? A look beneath the surface would reveal this:

Many marine creatures such as turtles, fish, and birds get trapped in plastic, resulting in injuries or death. This leads to the disruption of the marine ecosystem and a reduction in biodiversity. In many cases, it even leads to their extinction. But the seabed is not the only thing affected. Humans are equally impacted. Plastics can enter the human food chain, threatening human health.

In this context, volunteer initiatives to clean the seabed and beaches are vital. They create a healthier marine environment for everyone while simultaneously promoting the protection of the marine ecosystem, raising public awareness, and fostering a collective consciousness about our environmental responsibility.

This leads us to the conclusion that it is time to fight for a cleaner, more sustainable future, as marine pollution is one of the greatest environmental threats of our time. Volunteer initiatives play a crucial role in addressing this issue.
