We adopted an Urban Park!
The Greek Eco Project and the Specialized Center for the Diagnosis and Rehabilitation of People with Autism Spectrum Disorders "Ilianthos" joined forces in an environmental action for the local community of Peristeri.
We visited the urban park on Kleitoros and Agios Pavlos streets, a place where "Ilianthos" often visits and we gave it new life. We cleaned up the litter in the park, painted ecological messages on the benches, planted colorful flowers and herbs and placed informational signs with the characteristics of the plants.
The goal of this collaboration was to promote to the local community of Peristeri, issues related to both the acceptance of diversity and awareness of environmental issues. At the same time, people with Autism and their families were given the opportunity to participate in an environmental action, have fun, feel part of the local community and connect with other families.
