BLUE HALKIDIKI 2025

BLUE HALKIDIKI 2025
BLUE HALKIDIKI 2025 is implemented by Greek Eco Project in collaboration with the Hellenic Phycological Society (ELFE). For the 5th consecutive year, we continue our seabed and coastline cleanup actions in Halkidiki.
The project aims to raise public awareness about the impacts of marine pollution on marine ecosystems and human life through interactive, participatory activities and hands-on education..
As part of the program, the following activities will take place:
- Seabed and coastal cleanups in selected areas of Halkidiki
- Educational sessions with presentations and screenings about marine plants (macroalgae) and their ecological importance
- Introduction to scientific monitoring methodologies παρακολούθησης της θαλάσσιας βιοποικιλότητας
- Training of volunteers as “citizen scientists” to help collect and utilize environmental data
- Special hands-on workshopson species observation and recording techniques
Particular emphasis is given to macroalgae and indicator species of ecological health, such as Cystoseira spp.which are under threat due to pollution and environmental pressures.
The project is also supported by the Fisheries Research Institute (INALE),which contributes its scientific expertise and field experience in marine monitoring.
All activities are open to anyone who wishes to participate.

THE GOAL BLUE HALKIDIKI
This 3 words fully cover the objective of BLUE HALKIDIKI.
Raising awareness and informing the world about marine pollution is the most important purpose we organize and voluntarily participate in this great effort.
However, motivation is the result of proper information and awareness, because to help the planet, practical actions are needed.
